Google criticizes Microsoft's offer by Yahoo!

The world president of Google, Eric Schmidt, openly criticized the possible purchase of Yahoo! by Microsoft, yesterday during a press for Latin American journalists in Mexico City. According to Schmidt, the transaction would harm consumers by reducing their options.

"At Google, assume a position of concern ahead of Microsoft's potential merger with Yahoo! of the view that this will reduce the options for consumers on the Internet, "he said. Schmidt said the merger affect the free competition and gave as an example the fact that, with it, Microsoft and Yahoo could integrate their systems for e-mail. Microsoft has three weeks to Yahoo to decide on the offer.

Schmidt avoided talking about the effects of the possible purchase of Yahoo! by Microsoft for business as Google. But it lost the opportunity to make criticisms of the software giant. "There are many things which we differ from Microsoft. But the most important one, which is our most important rule is that we do not seguraremos consumers on Google. "E completed:" If you do not like Google and want to go to Microsoft or Yahoo, in facilitaremos it for you. Our competitors do not. And I believe that this is a good way to never desacelerarmos our activities and forced us to continue being innovative. "Information is the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.
